INNOVATIVE SYSTEM PROVIDING COMMUNICATION AND POWER SUPPLY FOR AUTOMATION COMPONENTS

WHAT IS V-ONE SYSTEM?

V-one is an innovative system that provides communication and power supply to automation components. The main application is in ventilation and air handling units. A characteristic feature of the V-one system is the simplification of wiring of ventilation and air handling units by using only one, two-wire cable for power supply and communication with automation components. The V-one system allows you to connect components in any topology. System works in the arrangement of one master system MASTER and many subordinate systems SLAVES.

Elements of the system

The innovative V-one system that provides communication and power supply to automation components consists of the three following elements:

1. The main management module V-one Master

Provides power supply for V-one modules and devices with 24 VDC voltage
Provides communication with V-one modules and devices
Provides communication with the master PLC in BACnet MSTP or Modbus RTU protocols

2. Executive modules, V-one Slaves

They have implemented the hardware layer of the V-one system
They have analog, digital or dedicated inputs (eg. PT1000) and communication links
They can be dedicated control modules (eg. electric heater control module)
Damper actuators, valve actuators

3. V-one Bus

The bus is a two-core shielded cable with a cross-section of 1 mm2
The cable is resistant to UV radiation

Topology

The V-one system operates in the configuration of a single master system MASTER and many slave systems SLAVES, which means that there is one main management module and at least one executive module. The maximum number of executive modules is limited by the address pool and the V-one Master gate type. The system topology is arbitrary, so it does not enforce any specific way of running wires, as it does for example in RS-485 networks. It is possible to mix the serial bus or star connection types in any way. The only recommendation is to lead the wires to use as few connectors as possible to increase the reliability of mechanical connections.

V-one Master

The main management module V-one Master is an element ensuring stable power supply of automation elements with 24 VDC voltage and at the same time enabling communication with these components. The main management module V-one Master cooperates directly with the PLC controller realizing the algorithm of the ventilation or air-conditioning unit. The V-one Master management module is a necessary element and can only be found individually in a given segment. The segment should be understood as a group of automation devices powered from this module. Communication between the V-one Master management module and the PLC is possible via the RS-485 communication interface in the BACnet MSTP, Modbus RTU protocols.

It has a built-in 24 VDC power supply with 75 W power
Supports up to 16 V-one Slave devices
Communication with the master PLC using the Modbus RTU protocol

V-one Slave

Subordinate executive modules are devices with implemented hardware layer, cooperating with the main V-one Master management module. Subordinate executive modules can be I/O modules, dedicated modules that implement specific functionalities such as: heater/cooler control or damper actuators and others. Individual modules are addressed individually in 4 or 8 bit mode.

V-one Bus

The Bus of the V-one system is a 2-core shielded cable with a cross-section of 1 mm2, for example: IB-BiT 500 CY. The use of a one cable for the power supply and communication of all system components makes the bus resistant to wrong connections and short-circuits.
